NOTICE OF INTENTION TO AMEND CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that SANITARY DISTRICT NO. 5 OF MARIN COUNTY intends to amend its conflict-of-interest code pursuant to Government Code Sections 87300 and 87306. Pursuant to Government Code Section 87302, the code will designate employees who must disclose certain investments, income, interests in real property, and business positions, and who must disqualify themselves from making or participating in the making of governmental decisions affecting those interests.

A written comment period has been established commencing on July 16, 2026, and terminating on August 20, 2026. Any interested person may present written comments concerning the proposed code no later than August 20, 2026 to SANITARY DISTRICT NO. 5 OF MARIN COUNTY, 2001 Paradise Drive, Tiburon, CA 94920. No public hearing on this matter will be held unless any interested person or his or her representative requests a public hearing no later than 15 days prior to the close of the written comment period.

SANITARY DISTRICT NO. 5 OF MARIN COUNTY has prepared a written explanation of the reasons for the designations and the disclosure responsibilities and has available all of the information upon which its proposal is based.

The proposed code amendments would delete the “Wastewater Facilities Manager” position from the list of designated employees as the District no longer has such a position. The proposed code amendments would add the positions WWTP Operations Superintendent and WWTP Maintenance & Collections System Superintendent and change “Office/Finance Manager” to “Administrative Services Manager” to the list of designated employees as the District has added these positions. The proposed code amendments would clarify that the “Attorney,” “Directors,” and “District Manager” positions must automatically file disclosure forms pursuant to Government Code, Section 87200.

“ Sanitary District No.5 of Marin County will be accepting sealed bids on a used 2005 Chevy 2500 that has was recently declared surplus as it has surpassed its useful life for District operations. The vehicle will be sold as is to the person with the highest submitted sealed bid. All bids are due by 8/12/2026 at 11:45 am-  Bids will be opened at 11:46am the same date and the winning bidder will be notified via contact information on bid.” The vehicle can be seen per request by contacting the administration office at 415-435-1501.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOPS AT A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF SANITARY DISTRICT NO. 5 REGARDING POTENTIAL SEWER RATE INCREASES

Please take notice that on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023 & May 24th  at 5:00 p.m. at the Sanitary District No. 5 of Marin County Main Plant Meeting Room, located at 2001 Paradise Drive, Tiburon, Marin County, California, the Board of Directors of Sanitary District No. 5 shall hold a public workshop at its special meeting to provide detailed information and answer any questions concerning the following: “Approving An Ordinance establishing a single sewer service rate and increasing the Sewer Service Charges district wide”

All interested residents of the District are invited to appear and be heard.

Copies of the proposed Ordinance to be considered, and of the Sewer Service Charge Study for the Districts service areas are available for review at the District office and online at www.sani5.org. To request copies, please call (415) 435-1501.
