Sanitary District No.5 of Marin County is a special District, which while meeting or exceeding all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations, is dedicated to the protection of public health and the environment through effective and economical collection, conveyance, treatment and disposal of wastewater.
Authorizing Statue
Sanitary District No. 5 of Marin County, a political subdivision of the State of California, is a governmental agency. The principal enabling legislation for the District is the California Health and Safety Code, sections 6400 et seq. (Sanitary District Act of 1923). Sanitary District No.5 of Marin County was formed, on March 22, 1922.
